Men have bad memory such as forgetting a birthday or other anniversary, forget where putting the keys, etc. Some things that make a person easy to forgot like too much of information received by the brain, the presence of disease that causes forget or other conditions.
Based on the research by Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, presented at the annual conference of the American Academy in Chicago said that, men are more likely to have memory problems and other cognitive disorders, especially elderly men.
Rosebud Roberts, an epidemiology expert at the Mayo Clinic said that due to this mild cognitive impairment, men tend to be more likely to have problems with memory, decision making, problems solving and language problems such as difficult to find the right words.
In general, there are two types of memory:
- Short-term memory, which contains information about things that go through and current thought. A person will be very focused on details of current thoughts.
- Long-term memory, containing information stored in the brain and usually contains information in the past. If someone experiencing something in the past 20 years, he may be able to remember it but could not provide the details.
Some people have a remarkable ability to remember and seemed never forget anything while others easy to forget due to the inability of the brain memory to store information in the long term.
However, there are several ways to improve memory and reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, this include stay physically and mentally active, avoid saturated fat and cholesterol, and eat more brain healthy foods, such as bell peppers, Brussels sprouts, carrots, cranberries, eggplant, grapes, sweet potatoes and dark green vegetables.
